Brentwood Catholic Children's Society . . .

. . . provides counselling for children and young adults, up to the age of eighteen years regardless of their beliefs, together with their families, who could be experiencing emotional difficulties. We employ qualified Social Workers or counselling staff to deliver a caring service, structured and intensive where necessary.
The Society works in partnership with families and other agencies within the ‘Every Child Matters’ legal framework. The prime focus of the work is to provide an early intervention service with families, children and young people and to enable them to address difficulties that may be impeding their educational, social and emotional development.
See our website for some examples of our work.
The cases outlined reflect the dedication and commitment of our Social Workers. They need help, support and encouragement to continue in the well established, enthusiastic approach for which they are renowned.

SPONSORED WALK 2018

On a lovely summer day today (Saturday, 23 June) 48 parishioners from our parish and St Edmund's, Loughton enjoyed the annual circular walk through Epping Forest for Brentwood Catholic Children's Society. We left Becket Centre just after 10am and made our way via Mornington Road, Woodford Golf Course, Butler's Retreat, The Green Ride to the "bikers cafe" at top of Fairmead before returning via Grimston's Oak and Connaught Water to Becket Centre at approx 2pm. Once again our thanks to Franca and CWL for the welcoming spread of refreshments on our return.

Please be generous to the walkers raising funds for this deserving small diocesan charity, details of the work of which can be found here http://www.bccs.org.uk

The event this year was brightened further for us by being joined for the walk by Julie Abbott, fundraising manager at bccs(pictured above, front centre black jacket) who was able to explain the importance to bccs of the sponsored walks that go on throughout the Diocese, being the single biggest means of fundraising for the charity.
