Year of the God who Speaks (2019-2020)

As you know, we are about to embark on the ‘Year of the God who Speaks’, promoted by the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wale. Attached please find the programme for the year, which you are asked to make known far and wide.

The Year will open here in the parish of Christ the Eternal High Priest at Gidea Park on Saturday 12th October at 10.30 a.m., with words from our Bishop. The main part of this study day will be talks on the opening chapters of the Book of Genesis, given by Fr Adrian Graffy. Please use the blurb given below in your newsletter and/or website. A second flyer about the day is attached.

STUDY DAY ON THE BOOK OF GENESIS

The ‘Year of the God who Speaks’, which runs from 2019-2020, is promoted by the Bishops of England and Wales. Bishop Alan Williams will open the Year at the Catholic Church of Christ the Eternal High Priest, Brentwood Road, Gidea Park (RM2 6DH) at 10.30 on Saturday 12th October. This will be followed by the launch of our renewed evangelisation website www.whatgoodnews.org  The main part of the day will be dedicated to two talks by Fr Adrian Graffy entitled ‘Beginning with Genesis’, which will provide a fresh reading of the opening chapters of the Book of Genesis. The day will conclude at 3 p.m. Admission is free, but please book by email to GPstudydays@gmail.com or by phone to 01708 449914. Copies of the newly-published ‘Revised New Jerusalem Bible’ will be on sale at the discounted price of £30 (RRP £39.99). Refreshments will be available but please bring your own packed lunch. There is ample free parking at the church, which is three minutes’ walk from Gidea Park station. Easy connections by bus and by TfL to Stratford, Liverpool Street, and Brentwood.
