Children's Liturgy at St Thomas'

Children’s Liturgy takes place every Sunday at St Thomas’s at the 10 o’clock Mass (term time only). The Liturgy is for children in Reception class up to and including Year 2.

Children’s Liturgy is the Liturgy of the Word suitably adapted to make it relevant to the lives and experiences of young children.  It gives them the opportunity to understand the Gospel message through role play, artwork, music and story telling.

The Catechists are volunteers from the Parish community who give up their time once a month to become Liturgists.  All it takes to qualify for this role is a desire to help children to take a more active part in the celebration of their faith,

There are three co-ordinators for the Children’s Liturgy whose role it is to produce rotas, paperwork and artwork for the Catechists.  They are as follows:

  • Julie Prior – Overall Parish co-ordinator and Co-ordinator for Year 1

  • Anne Farmer – Co-ordinator for Year 2

  • Maggie Lancaster – Co-ordinator for Reception

If you would like to contact any of the co-ordinators, or indeed wish to volunteer, please do so through the Parish Office, who will be happy to forward your details/request to the relevant person.
