DIOCESAN PLAN

A first draft of a plan for restructuring our Diocese is now published and can be read in the church porch - or online here>>>. It is emphasised that this is only a first draft and offered for your consideration. All the same the writer Stephen Webb, seems pretty confident it will go forward. It is not easy to grasp what exactly he is proposing. I am concerned about the basic principles that guide the practical proposals. But before I tell you my misgivings I would like to hear – first whether you too find it unsatisfactory, and then to say in what respects this is so. There is no doubt that big changes have to be made. Are these the right ones? If you wish to comment on this before closing

CAFOD JOINS DEC TO RESPOND TO ROHINGYA CRISIS IN BANGLADESH

9 October 2017 More than 500,000 people are estimated to have fled to Bangladesh, escaping violence in Myanmar. CAFOD's partner, Caritas Bangladesh, is responding to the Rohingya crisis. The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) have launched an emergency appeal for those affected. Donate online to the emergency appeal here>>>

ABBOTSWICK COLLECTION - An amazing sum of £1,290 was raised in response to the appeal. Grateful thanks. SOUP RUN - Huge thanks to Normanhurst School in Chingford and Loyola Preparatory School for their Harvest donations which will keep us going for many months. The next soup run will be on 25th Oct.
