The role must be filled without delay. Fortunately two noble volunteers have offered their service. Claire Nairne and Emma Smith are familiar to many as teachers in St Antony’s. They will pick up the task from Therese immediately.

There will be a collection by the Saint Vincent De Paul Society after all masses this weekend.

Are now running GCSE & A level science classes in the Becket Centre. Contact SSLC for more information and to book your child a place on 07940 056928 or email

The mass will be held at 7.30pm on Wednesday 31st January with Bishop Alan and Bishop John of Westminster diocese. Delightful that we have 97 candidates, alas it means there is only room for the candidates, their sponsors and only 2 or 3 from each family in the church. Please remember the candidates and their families in your prayers.

43rd St Thomas’ Cub Pack

Our cub pack started in 1939 and has had only 4 leaders in that time. Rob Rose has been the leader for the past 33 years and is retiring in July. We therefore have 6 months to find and train a new leader. The group is strong and has many experienced assistants and parent helpers. Please give Rob a call on 07966 361347 or come to a pack meeting - Fridays 6.15 - 7.45pm. We must not let our pack close.

The Parish Think Tank

We meet this week to plan the Lent series of discussions. We hope to start on Wednesday 21st February and to continue the practice you found acceptable last autumn. Nobody today wants to listen to lectures. So we intend providing a stimulus to start off free saying of everyones thoughts, whites, hopes and fears. In October the Synod in Rome will explore the life of young people today. We have in mind the many people who are now finding the church irrelevant in our fast-changing world. Watch this space.
