Parish Annual meeting

I hope you will come to the meeting today shortly after the end of the 11.30 Mass. Large changes lie ahead. It is better to anticipate what is needed and to take an active part in shaping the future of our part of the Brentwood Diocese, than simply to wait till others decide. So far the discussions about a partnership between our 3 parishes have shown a desire to cooperate. Certainly there is a sense that it is you the lay people who have to make the decisions. An amalgamation into one seems neither possible nor desirable. Instead we are three families, not in competition or desire to dominate, but rather to work in harmony and mutual help. Key to this future is our Parish Council and its Fi

Francis persuaded the Pope to grant a plenary indulgence to all who would come to pray in the little chapel he rebuilt in Assisi. It is the feast of this chapel and event on Friday of this week. This indulgence can be gained in every church now on the feast, following the usual conditions of receiving the sacraments within a reasonable time and praying for the Pope’s intentions

Summer Fete Team—Thank you

A big thank you from the Summer Fete team for all coming, enjoying and making the most of the sunshine last Saturday. To see both adults and children having fun and making wonderful memories was a joy to behold. Of course such an event wouldn’t have happened without lots of support. From the creation of banners, to printing of programmes, to ideas for stalls and lists upon lists of courageous volunteers, to the quiet but effective support from the parish council, parish office & Fr Quentin and my tree/grass cutters and plant growers and the great communications team, we’d have been lost without you. Not to mention all who donated bottles, prizes, gifts & vouchers, thank you. However, a speci

Or it could train up to 97 health workers and new mothers to identify the early effects of malnutrition in babies and children and save ma

Mission San Diego

Parishioners may be interested to note the item below that appears in today's The i newspaper. Anniversary - Sunday, 16 July 1769 Father Junipero Serra, a Spanish Franciscan missionary, founds the first Catholic mission in Caliornia on the site of present day San Diego. After Serra blessed his new outpost, the royal standard of Spain was unfurled over the mission, which he named San Diego de Alcala. Photos by David Underwood.

Parish A.G.M next Sunday at 12.30

Not the most exciting event but one very much needed. Please come: to tell us what you think about our practice of the past year, what we should be doing in the coming year – and most of all – How you are going to take part. We are blessed with very many who give themselves generously to building the parish. Attendance at the AGM will give us an idea of how much interest there is in what we are offering.
