World Youth Day

Thirty young people from our Diocese have gone to Panama to enjoy this life-changing experience, though I think none from this parish. We have however helped some with finance. Now we can add our prayers for the ones currently enjoying this experience, and those still at home. Our Parish Council is looking for means to help young people find the value of belonging actively to our church when they have to live with so much discouragement in the general climate.

There will be an SVP collection after all Masses this weekend. Thank you all for your generous donations which enable us to help those in need in the local area. If you are interested in joining us in our work please contact us via the Parish Office.

Saturday School

There are many children in the boundaries of our parish who have not succeeded in gaining a place in St Antony’s school. We have generous leaders who provide a very good hour of instruction each Saturday morning for these children. But the number attending has dropped, possibly because there was a rumour that the practice was coming to an end. Well the teachers will be there next Saturday and every Saturday. Do take advantage of this service. Your children depend on it.

If you are thinking of marrying this year it will be well to let us know without delay. It is useful to start the preparations we offer well in advance and generally at least 6 months before the wedding.
