See the notice in the porch of a Mass and celebration of marriage and family life in the Cathedral on 6th July. I have four invitations to enjoy this with reception (I presume a party). If you would like to go please contact Fr Quentin.
Finally the much-talked of work is about to begin. We have been assured that scaffolders will arrive on Monday 29th to clad the whole Friary and also three chapels of the church. I assume that there will be much engagement of the church carpark for the first few days. It will be wise to assume that the car park is not available for dropping off children for school at least on the start date. We hope to have more information shortly
A question, I am sure, that has been asked many times in many different situations. However, in this particular case we are talking about the church. Do you feel it is your home? Would you like it to be your home? What can we do to make you feel at home? The Landings programme is a series of meetings, led by lay people, for those wishing to reconnect with their Catholic faith. Through a series of questions, discussions and sharing of personal experiences we want to welcome yo
Despite the lower than usual numbers attending mass yesterday we still had an extremely generous collection from parishioners (just over £900 ). We will be putting some of the money to good use straight away this week helping local families in need... the generosity of the parishioners is much appreciated.
We wish you all a happy Easter – and a good rest after all the prayer and liturgy of the past week. You deserve it. With the school holiday falling before the feast we thought there would be a noticeable drop in numbers. But all masses last Sunday were well attended. They were devotional. You sang well in the Palm procession, managing to sustain the musical round to the beat of the drum. Now that you have found confidence we will try to include another line or two next year.

What a splendid event this turned out to be. Till the weekend there seemed to be little interest. But on Sunday many dozen came. I thank and congratulate Michelle and her family. Their imagination and breadth of activities was clever and fun. A series of ingenious clues led the hunters round the garden and then into the church. When the children unravelled the riddles (with a little help) the message came through: Jesus loves you! Tea and cakes followed, with drawing and hand
