Featuring favourite carols, with music led by Art from Brentwood Cathedral, as well as Gabi, Felishia and Erin from the BCYS and Walsingham House team, along with readings and poems, the concert will be a prayerful and delightful way to journey through Advent. And, of course, you can sing along to your heart’s content at home! Free to watch, with donations wel-come: money raised will be split between the Trussell Trust, supporting food banks across the Diocese, and the Brentw
Please let us have a family photo with details of the masses you would normally attend. Provide the full name of you child, his/her date of birth, and your current address. This can be emailed to email@example.com.
While the church is closed Rob and his colleagues have been busy with small repairs to our ancient building. The Beckett Centre gets hard use in normal times. That is what it is for. It is all part of family life. Similarly there are many things needed to keep the church in good order. I thank you for what you are doing using this opportunity of an empty church.
All Christians are invited to join each evening at 6 pm for common prayer till the end of the lockdown. Our evening prayer is streamed each evening at that time. Cardinal Nichols has asked for a day of prayer next Saturday, for an end to the plague.
Do you want to prepare for Advent by joining a Lectio Divina meeting ? Sharing the Word of God: Next meeting via Zoom on Tuesday 24th November at 2:30pm For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org
Our lives are being turned upside down at the moment due to Covid-19. Join us to reflect on some of the characters in the Christmas story whose lives were also radically changed. How is God speaking to us through these stories today? Each Friday we will focus on one set of characters. The meeting will also include a sharing of a contemporary story of vocation/call. There will be time for sharing, questions and discussion. Fridays at 7pm (one hour) 27th Nov, 4th , 11th , 18th
Dear Father, Dear Headteacher, Dear School Chaplain, Dear Catechist, Dear Steward of the Gospel, Dear Parish Secretary, Dear Cathedral House Colleague, I hope that you are safe and well. Our longer video for National Youth Sunday is now on YouTube; if you possibly can, take 7 minutes out of your day, and enjoy watching it. The voices of young people from across the Diocese tell us: "I found confidence to share my faith" ... "The best experiences in my life" ... "Friendship" .
The Church is closed to the public. However, join us daily via https://www.stthomaswoodford.org/watch-mass-live for Mass every day at 10 am and at 6pm for evening prayer with exposition of the blessed sacrament. We will also record the 10am Mass on Sunday. Confessions can take place by appointment.
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen
The SVP would like to thank those generous parishioners who have kept us afloat during this difficult year - your kindness has enabled us to continue providing assistance to local families in need. On more than one occasion the timing of these anonymous donations has been incredible, enabling us to address specific requests as they arose. We will remember you in our prayers.
