There will be an AGM of the parish on Sunday 18th July after 11.30am Mass. We intend to hold it in the church, where everything is arranged for safe distancing. We wanted to keep it brief, but it is important that you have the opportunity to have your say!
Jesus’ parting words to the Apostles apply to everyone. If you simply hug your faith to yourself you will lose it. In SToC we have committed ourselves jointly to three main ventures through which we have obeyed Jesus’ instruction. They are Telco, the Soup Run and the SVP. The pandemic has broken continuity in these activities somewhat. The St Vincent de Paul members can resume their visits now, though they have been quietly caring in the lockdown. During next week there will be works/events taking place including tree cutting, scaffolding installation, wedding and a funeral. This may mean that some parts of the car park may not be accessible. It is advisable to make alternative arrangements for this period.
Following updates from the Diocese we have decided to make some small changes in an effort to start returning to some form of normality. We are once again urging you to donate any GOOD quality Trinity uniform, trainers, shoes, football boots etc for our used uniform supply room. These will be available to all pupils who are in need of uniform/ supplies. We would also be grateful for hanging rails, coat hangers, shoe racks or plastic boxes, etc. that can help us organise the stock. Donations can be left at the parish office 10am-1pm up till 21st June.
Unfortunately, we have to cancel this event for the meantime. Our parish is committed to ensuring safety at all times for anyone on our premises or with whom we make contact. Had the mass gone ahead there would have been many vulnerable people present. Of course we will still be looking for an opportunity to stage this much valued mass bringing the entire parish together for mass and picnic. Thank you for your patience.
Our pastoral Council met as the airwaves rumbled the PM’s extension of covid restrictions. It prompted us to think: what shape of parish and particularly what opportunities for mass and services will emerge when restrictions finally come to an end. We have to bear in mind the Diocesan Plan. This envisages a future wherein three present parishes: Our Lady of Lourdes, St Anne Line and ourselves will be served by only 2 priests. The Council asks you to advise us now. We will
“Catholic social thought places emphasis on the cultivation of virtue rather than the exercise of liberty or the accumulation of prosperity as mankind’s goal. In economic terms it thinks of the common good, with individuals given the chance to find dignity in the exercise of skill, as the guiding principle, rather than profits or abstract equality targets. And it is particularly concerned about the dignity of work and workers. It celebrates vocation, believes in worker partic
