More than ever before we need to be informed of how our Church is faring in the contemporary world. At present there are 4 publishers: The Tablet, The Universe, The Catholic Herald and The Catholic Times. Each presents some coverage of the church at home and abroad, the Pope and Vatican. Each week you see a copious supply of these in the church porch and at Chigwell. You have had the option of purchasing one or leaving them and the parish has incurred no cost. Sadly that situation is about to change. The publishers will no longer charge us on a Sale or Return basis. That means that the parish must pay for each copy supplied. We need to know what interest there will be to investing in a regular subscription to one of these publications.
