We have all been alarmed at the sharp rise in the spread of the disease. From several quarters we are being urged simply to stay at home. It is in our own interest as well as being our duty to others that we take every possible precaution to avoid adding to the spread. So our Health and Safety committee has decided that we will stop all opportunities for access to mass and the church. We have been very well served by many stewards who have led you through the details of careful entry, movement around the church and leaving. Then they have spent time cleaning all surfaces where virus could possibly be lurking. They really deserve our very warm appreciation. So also the readers and ministers of communion. Thanks to all these you have been well protected till now. Evidently in general we just need to stay at home. Hence our decision to close the church for visits. The only exception is for funerals.
