Bishop Alan has written a letter of encouragement for all involved in our catholic school system. See it on our website. Catholic education for children has been a priority of our church in England and Wales for 170 years. Build schools rather than churches was the motto as we came out of the years of oppression. The system is again under threat today, with new pressures both internal and external.
The value of Multi-Academies is debated. Bishop Alan sees their value. Just think: if there were no catholic schools how would our children learn their faith? We need committed teachers and staff, governors too. And from all of us: prayers for their continuance and success.
