Ministry of Catechists

Every month the Pope chooses a special intention and asks the whole of the church to pray for this special body. For December he has chosen: You Catechists. There are many in SToC. Some are recognised – teachers in schools, those teaching in the preparation for sacraments. Many more do it without thinking they are doing anything special. But do think. You mums and dads teach your babies to pray. When you bring them for baptism you undertake to bring them up in the faith. And you do it steadily. - We respect the Ministers of Communion because they give the body of Christ. You Catechists give the Word of Christ. We pray for you with the Pope this month. There are courses for those who would like to give more positive shape to the teaching they are doing.
