World Youth Day

This takes place in Portugal from 2nd to 6th August. Young people will enjoy a Glastonbury-dimension of enthusiasm – this time finding it in their faith. The Pope’s motto quotes St Luke “Mary went with haste”. An interesting choice. Mary had received a glimpse of her astounding task from the angel. She wasted no time in searching out its meaning. These pilgrims are looking to become agents of peace, unity and fraternity.

A sort of satellite will be happening in Wembley on 5th August. The Pope will bring it to its conclusion on Sunday 6th.
